1964 was a momentous year for saxophonist Wayne Short, having started with Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers before making in own debut with Night Dreamer. That summer, he joined the Miles Davis Quintet cementing a seminal lineup in jazz history. Speak No Evil was created with Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Elvin Jones. Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
