Description

Third moves through starker territory than the group's earlier trip-hop, trading plush, cinematic atmosphere for motorik rhythms, analogue synth drone, brittle guitar and long stretches of unease. Pieces such as "Machine Gun," "The Rip" and "Silence" set fragile vocal melodies against abrasive electronics and folk-tinged acoustic passages, with the sequencing holding its tension rather than releasing it.
