Description

Gold collects essential recordings by The Supremes, the Motown vocal group whose run with Diana Ross helped define 1960s pop and soul. The 2CD format allows a broader sweep through the group's chart-dominating singles, polished Holland-Dozier-Holland productions, and later catalog highlights than a standard single-disc hits set. Songs associated with the group showcase close harmonies, orchestral Motown arrangements, and the label's crossover pop strategy at its most effective.
