Description

The Dream Of The Blue Turtles is Sting's 1985 solo debut, released after the Police and built with a band of jazz musicians including Branford Marsalis, Kenny Kirkland, Darryl Jones, and Omar Hakim. The album expands Sting's songwriting into jazz-inflected pop-rock, political reflection, and sophisticated ensemble playing while retaining accessible singles such as "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free," "Love Is the Seventh Wave," "Russians," and "Fortress Around Your Heart."
