Description

The King Is Dead is The Decemberists’ sixth studio album, turning toward a more roots-oriented sound. It became the band’s first album to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The rolling “Down by the Water” and driving “This Is Why We Fight” bring a direct, open-road feel, while “January Hymn” offers a quieter turn. This edition is pressed on vinyl.
