Description

The Crane Wife draws on a Japanese folk tale for its framing narrative, threading that story around a set of ornate, literary folk-rock. The album ranges from the sprawling, prog-leaning suite "The Island" to the bright pop turn of "O Valencia!" and the hushed, unsettling "Shankill Butchers."
