Description

South Of Heaven is Slayer's 1988 album, produced by Rick Rubin and the band after the speed and intensity of Reign In Blood. The record slows the tempo in places without softening its dark atmosphere, giving tracks such as the title song, "Mandatory Suicide," and "Silent Scream" a heavier, more deliberate impact. Its shift in pacing helped broaden Slayer's language while preserving the band's thrash-metal identity.
