Description

Robbers & Cowards is Cold War Kids' 2006 debut album, introducing the Long Beach band's raw mix of indie rock, bluesy piano, wiry guitar, and Nathan Willett's urgent vocals. The record includes "Hang Me Up to Dry," which became a defining early single, along with songs that favor narrative sketches and rough-edged rhythmic tension. Its stripped, nervy sound helped situate the band within the mid-2000s indie-rock wave.
