Description

Reckoning is R.E.M.'s 1984 second album, a jangling college-rock classic that sharpened the Athens band's early sound after Murmur. The record emphasizes ringing guitars, Michael Stipe's elliptical vocals, and a loose but propulsive rhythm section, with songs such as "So. Central Rain" and "Don't Go Back to Rockville" becoming early favorites.
