Description

Paul's Boutique pairs the Beastie Boys' trading, interlocking rhymes with a thick collage of samples, breakbeats and crate-dug loops that shift shape from bar to bar. Tracks including "Shake Your Rump," "Hey Ladies" and "Shadrach" move between funk-heavy grooves and cut-up psychedelia, rewarding repeat listens for the detail buried in the mix. Originally released in 1989. 20th Anniversary.
