Description

Matangi is M.I.A.'s 2013 album, a dense and rhythmically charged release that fuses electronic production, hip-hop, South Asian textures, club music, and confrontational pop. Named after a Hindu goddess and linked to the artist's own birth name, the record foregrounds identity, noise, and movement through tracks such as "Bad Girls," "Bring the Noize," and "Y.A.L.A."
