Description

Animalize found KISS pushing deeper into the hard rock sound of their 1980s unmasked era, following 1983’s Lick It Up. It was the only KISS studio album to feature guitarist Mark St. John, whose brief tenure gave the record a sharper, flashier edge.

“Heaven’s on Fire” became the album’s signature single, pairing a lean chorus with the band’s arena-sized instincts, while “I’ve Had Enough (Into the Fire)” opens the record with a more urgent attack. “Thrills in the Night” brings a melodic contrast to the heavier material. Available here on vinyl.
