Description

Gregorian Chant collects unaccompanied plainchant sung in Latin by the Benedictine Monks of the Abbey of St. Maurice & St. Maur, Clevaux, moving through hymns, sequences and antiphons at an unhurried, meditative pace. The single melodic line and resonant choral blend give the program a calm, devotional atmosphere, with Marian antiphons such as "Salve Regina" and "Regina Caeli" sitting alongside familiar texts like "Te Deum" and "Tantum Ergo".
