Description

Good News marked Kathy Mattea's first Christmas album and brought a thoughtful country-gospel approach to seasonal music. Released in 1993, the project emphasized original songs and less familiar material rather than relying only on standard carols, giving the album a distinctive identity within holiday country catalogs. The set includes "There's a New Kid in Town" and "Mary, Did You Know?" and went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album.
