Description

Dream Songs: The Essential Joe Hisaishi draws together the composer's film themes and concert pieces, moving between solo piano miniatures, sweeping orchestral writing, and gentle folk-tinged melody. Familiar material from Hayao Miyazaki's animated features sits alongside quieter cues written for Takeshi Kitano's films, among them "One Summer's Day," "Summer," and "Merry-Go-Round." The sequencing favors mood over chronology.
