Description

Document captures R.E.M. moving from jangling, oblique college rock toward a harder and more direct attack, with guitars pushed forward and vocals set high in the mix. "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" barrels through its verses, while "Finest Worksong" and "The One I Love" work taut, insistent riffs, and the surrounding songs carry a restless political undercurrent.
