The Planets Op. 32 (LP)

$38.98

Description

The Boston Symphony Orchestra and its then principal conductor, William Steinberg, only made a few recordings for Deutsche Grammophon in 1970/71. However, these recordings of 20th-century masterpieces are still considered unsurpassed today. One of these is Gustav Holst’s The Planets, which was recorded in 1970. This performance features powerful passages, precise orchestral playing, and nuanced sound. The seven-movement suite ranges from the mighty 'Mars' to the softly fading 'Neptune'.
