Oblique, recorded in 1967, is one of two sessions the great vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson released on Blue Note. Not released until 1979, it features Herbie Hancock, Joe Chambers, and Albert Stinson. The album includes standouts like the breezy opener "`Til Then," Hancock's tremendous "Theme From Blow Up," and Chambers' adventurous title track. Blue Note Tone Poet Series features all-analog, remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
