Description

Check Your Head is the Beastie Boys’ third studio album, bringing live instrumentation back into the foreground after the sample-dense construction of Paul’s Boutique. Recorded at the group’s own G-Son studio, it moves between hip-hop, hardcore punk, funk, and loose instrumental jams.

“Pass the Mic” and “So What’cha Want” anchor the record with distorted grooves and tag-team verses, while “Gratitude” builds around a heavy bass line and live-band attack. “Jimmy James” opens the album with a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. This edition is presented on 2LP vinyl.
