Description

Band Of Gypsys documents Jimi Hendrix in a heavier, funk-inflected live setting from the Fillmore East in 1970, trading studio layering for extended improvisation and raw rhythm-section push. Recorded with Billy Cox on bass and Buddy Miles on drums, the set stretches out across "Who Knows" and the smouldering anti-war centerpiece "Machine Gun," while "Message To Love" and "We Gotta Live Together" lean harder into groove.
