Description

Alive! documents Grant Green in a live setting, recorded at the Cliché Lounge in Newark, New Jersey, in August 1970 and originally issued on Blue Note that same year. The extended performances lean into soul-jazz and jazz-funk territory, with Green's clean, rhythmically insistent guitar lines riding loose organ-and-drums grooves rather than chasing hard bop complexity.
