Gold is a career-spanning Sublime compilation that draws from the band’s studio albums, early recordings, dub experiments, and posthumous releases. Its 44 tracks trace the group’s progression from the rough-edged blend of punk and reggae on <i>40oz. to Freedom</i> to the tighter songwriting of their self-titled album.

“What I Got” and “Santeria” represent Sublime’s most widely recognized melodic side, while “Date Rape” captures the sharper attack of their early material. “Badfish” remains a defining example of the band’s reggae-rooted songwriting, and “Doin’ Time” closes the collection on a languid, sample-driven note. This edition is presented as a 2-disc CD set.
