Alive III returned KISS to the live-album format that had shaped the band’s 1970s breakthrough, this time capturing the early 1990s lineup in the wake of <i>Revenge</i>. The set draws a clear line across eras, pairing makeup-period staples with harder-edged material from the band’s unmasked years.

“Creatures of the Night” and “Unholy” give the album a heavier opening frame, while “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City” keep the performance rooted in the band’s core concert repertoire. “God Gave Rock ’n’ Roll to You II” brings in one of KISS’ key late-period singles before the closing “Star Spangled Banner.” Available here on CD.
