Description

Originally a Record Store Day 2019 exclusive, this Decca release returned a singular artefact to vinyl for the first time since 1962. In August 1961 Salvador Dalí staged a surrealist performance at Venice's Teatro La Fenice — a blind man watching television, a wardrobe mistress endlessly ironing, a carcass of beef surrounded by flies, processions of limping beggars and gondoliers, and Dalí himself in a gondolier's white uniform and red Catalan cap. Decca were on hand to document it, with producer Erik Smith and engineer Roy Wallace, co-creator of the "Decca Tree". The edition reproduces Dalí's original artwork and set designs and includes exclusive interviews with the artist. Pressed in a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
