NYC Ghosts & Flowers is Sonic Youth’s eleventh studio album, made after much of the band’s touring equipment was stolen in 1999. The disruption helped shape a more stripped-back, exploratory record built around new instruments and a strong spoken-word influence.

“Free City Rhymes” opens the album with slowly unfolding guitar interplay, while “Nevermind (What Was It Anyway)” pushes toward a more compact attack and the title track pairs Kim Gordon’s recitation with an unsettled instrumental backdrop. This edition is presented on CD.
