Trumpeter Freddie Hubbard burst out of the gates in the early 1960s with a run of hard bop classics including Hub Cap, the 1stalbum to showcase both his dynamic playing & compositional prowess. Bringing the music to life was a sextet with Julian Priester, Jimmy Heath, Cedar Walton, Larry Ridley & Philly Joe Jones. This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on gatefold jacket.
