Def Jam 30 Collection 6LP Box Set

Add to cart

Description

A six-LP box celebrating thirty years of Def Jam Recordings, housed in a box shaped like a Technics SL-1200 turntable.

The collection traces the label's foundations and the wider early hip-hop landscape it grew out of, taking in records that shaped the sound Def Jam was built on: "Rockin' It," "Looking For The Perfect Beat," "Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)," "Set It Off," "Body Rock" and more across 43 tracks.

Beyond the music, it is a piece of design. The turntable-shaped box is the sort of object that gets displayed rather than shelved, and included with the records are a 16-page booklet and a Def Jam 30th anniversary t-shirt, supplied in either burgundy or black.
