Icon is a 2018 compilation from Godsmack, arriving after the band’s 2014 album 1000hp as part of Universal’s long-running Icon series of single-disc retrospectives. Rather than a career-spanning deep dive, it works as a tight survey of the songs that kept Godsmack on rock radio from the late 1990s into the 2010s.
“Voodoo” and “Whatever” go back to the band’s earliest breakout period, while “Awake,” “I Stand Alone,” and “Straight Out of Line” chart the heavier, more streamlined side of their peak years. Later cuts like “Cryin’ Like A Bitch” and “1000HP” show how that formula held together across another decade. This edition is available on CD.
