Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree: The Decca Christmas Recordings (Decca/UMG) marks the first time all 18 of her Christmas recordings in the ‘50s and ‘60s for that label have been compiled in one collection. Among them are the original 1960 hit “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree,” two recordings making their CD debuts (“Papa Noel” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”) and three tracks issued in the U.S. for the first time (“White Christmas,” “Silent Night” and “Jingle Bells”). Digitally remastered from original sources, the album also features new liner notes boasting an interview with the rockabilly-country superstar and photos from her personal collection.
