KISS

Description

The Best Of KISS leads off with “Strutter” and “Deuce” from the band’s 1974 self-titled debut album and the title track from that same year’s Hotter Than Hell. “C’mon And Love Me” was culled from Dressed To Kill (1975) and the original live version of “Rock And Roll All Nite,” the group’s Top 20 breakthrough, from ALIVE! (1975), its first gold album. From the following year, Destroyer, its first platinum album, is represented by “Beth” (it's first of two gold singles) and “Detroit Rock City,” the band’s only two Top 10 hits, each #7. Heard from the same year’s Rock And Roll Over are “Calling Dr. Love” and “Hard Luck Woman,” each Top 20. 1977’s Love Gun contributes its title track and the Top 25 “Christine Sixteen.” The band’s other gold single, the #11-charting “I Was Made For Loving You,” from 1979’s Dynasty, concludes the decade--and The Best Of KISS. The series 20th Century Masters/The Millennium Collection, featuring new “best of” albums from the most significant music artists of the past century, is the most successful single artist series in music history.
