Rihanna

Description

With sales exceeding 200 million records worldwide, Rihanna is one of the best-selling artists of all time. Rihanna is the youngest and fastest solo artist to earn fourteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, and was named the Digital Songs Artist of the 2000s decade and the top Hot 100 artist of the 2010s decade by Billboard. Among numerous awards and accolades, Rihanna has won eight Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, twelve Billboard Music Awards, two BRIT Awards, and the inaugural Icon Award at the American Music Awards of 2013.

Music of the Sun is the debut studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna. It was released by Def Jam Recordings on August 30, 2005. Prior to signing with Def Jam, Rihanna was discovered by record producer Evan Rogers in Barbados, who helped Rihanna record demo tapes to send out to several record labels. Jay-Z, the former chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Def Jam, was given Rihanna's demo by Jay Brown, his A&R at Def Jam, and invited her to audition for the label after hearing what turned out to be her first single, "Pon de Replay". She auditioned for Jay-Z and L.A. Reid, the former CEO and president of record label group The Island Def Jam Music Group, and was signed on the spot to prevent her from signing with another record label.

A Girl Like Me, originally released by Def Jam Recordings on April 10, 2006, is a pop, reggae and R&B album influenced by Rihanna's Caribbean roots. It also incorporates dancehall and rock elements and ballads, which music critics were ambivalent towards. The album spawned four singles: "SOS", which became her first single to reach number-one on the Billboard Hot 100, "Unfaithful" and "Break It Off", both reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100, and “We Ride”.

Good Girl Gone Bad (2007)is the third studio album by Rihanna. Rihanna worked with various producers on the album, including Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Terius "Dream" Nash, Neo da Matrix, Timbaland, Carl Sturken, Evan Rogers and StarGate. Inspired by Brandy Norwood's fourth studio album Afrodisiac (2004), Good Girl Gone Bad is a pop, dance-pop and R&B album with 1980s music influences. Described as a turning point in Rihanna's career, it represents a departure from the Caribbean sound of her previous releases. The album received seven Grammy Award nominations and one win in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for "Umbrella" at the 2008 ceremony. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold 162,000 copies in its first week. Certified quintuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), it sold more than 2.8 million copies in the United States. The album reached number one in Canada, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. By November 2011, Good Girl Gone Bad had sold 7 million copies worldwide. The album features international hits "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music".

Rated R (2009) produced six singles, including the international hits "Russian Roulette", "Rude Boy" and "Te Amo", in addition to "Hard". "Russian Roulette" was released as the album's lead single and managed to reach top-ten in seventeen countries and topped the charts in Norway and Switzerland. "Hard" reached number nine in the United States and became her thirteenth top-ten single re-tying her with Beyoncé as the female artist with the most top-ten hit singles in the country. "Rude Boy" was a commercial success and became the only single from the album that topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks.

Loud (2010) features up-tempo and pop genres, ranging from R&B and dance-pop to electro music, and marks the return to dancehall; a genre prominent on Rihanna's first two albums Music of the Sun (2005) and A Girl like Me (2006). It also incorporates rock in "California King Bed" and reggae in the Caribbean inspired "Man Down". The album also features international hits "Only Girl (In the World)", "What's My Name?" and "S&M".

The lead single from Talk That Talk (2011),"We Found Love", became Rihanna's eleventh number-one song US Billboard Hot 100, and topped the charts in 26 additional countries. "You da One", "Talk That Talk" (featuring rapper Jay Z) and a remix of "Birthday Cake" (featuring Chris Brown) experienced moderate success, while "Where Have You Been" reached the top ten of twenty countries around the world.

Unapologetic is the seventh studio album by Rihanna, originally released on November 19, 2012, by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. As executive producer, Rihanna enlisted previous collaborators The-Dream, David Guetta, Chase & Status, and StarGate to work alongside new collaborators such as Parker Ighile, Mike Will Made-It, and Labrinth. Unapologetic is mainly a pop and R&B album that incorporates elements of dubstep, hip hop, EDM and reggae in its production, similar to the sound of her previous albums Talk That Talk and Rated R.The album produced seven singles including "Diamonds" and "Stay". The former peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 where it became Rihanna's twelfth number one song, tying her with Madonna and The Supremes for fourth most number one songs in the history of the chart.

Anti (2016) is the eighth and most recent studio album released by Rihanna. The singer began planning the record in 2014, at which time she left her previous label Def Jam and joined Roc Nation. Work continued into 2015, during which she released three singles including "FourFiveSeconds", which reached the top 10 in several markets; they were ultimately removed from the final track listing. Anti was made available for free digital download on January 28 through Tidal and was released to online music stores for paid purchase on January 29. This is a departure from Rihanna's previous dance and club music genres and is a primarily pop and R&B album, with elements of dancehall and soul. The producers incorporated dark, sparsely layered, minimalist song structures, with most of Anti's lyrics dealing with the complexities of romantic love and self-assurance. It was promoted with four singles, including the single "Work", featuring Canadian rapper Drake, which peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 becoming Rihanna's fourteenth number one single on the chart. To further promote the album, Rihanna embarked on the Anti World Tour in 2016.

The box will include a slipmat and book comprised of each album’s CD booklets.

All titles are 180g, and the box will also include an MP3 download card.
